The Cloisters Part 1

2010 May 1

My friend Adam and I went way uptown today to pay a visit to the Cloisters, a charming little museum of medieval art that the Met maintains in Fort Tryon Park. I’m not really a fan of the period, but even I have to admit the collection is impressive. I have a few images to share from the day; but, first, here’s a shot from the 190th Street subway station. Buried deep within a ridge, there are only two ways out: a long tunnel that leads to the foot of the ridge, or an elevator that takes you about 5 stories up to the top. Its definitely one of the coolest stations I’ve seen.

More to come later…
