From The Archives: Layers
It’s Sunday again and time for another picture from the archives. This building in TriBeCa, with no apparent tenant, looks like it was once an architectural showpiece. You can see the intricate detail in the arches and columns. But time has supplied a layer of rust and grime, which adds a new character to the building. On top of that, the facade has been decorated by graffiti artists. The contributions of design, decay, and vandalism create something significantly greater than the sumn of the parts. You only have to look.
The blog is now almost three weeks old and I want to say thank you to everyone who has visited so far. And especially to those who have posted comments, please keep them coming!
