Penn Station is a labyrinthian underground train station which is a major hub for Amtrak, the Long Island Rail Road, and NJ Transit, not to mention connecting to two different subway lines. Even long time New Yorkers can easily get lost in its complex and confusing corridors. When traveling the Long Island Rail Road, you wait in a cramped hall with impossibly low ceilings until the track number for your train is called. Everyone waits, not very patiently, around a single monitor that lists all the trains. As soon as a number appears, the crowd dashes. Not New York City’s most glamorous moment. Or most efficient for the matter.
