This ornate rosary window is part of one of the most beautiful gothic church facades in New York City. It belongs to the St Cyril and St Methodius Croatian Church on West 41st Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues. The church stands in an almost complete no man’s land, with the entrance ramps to the Port Authority Bus Station on one side and the approach roads to the Lincoln Tunnel on the other. It opened in 1914 as an Irish Catholic Church and changed hands several times as the Hells Kitchen population has shifted. It’s been Croatian since 1977. This gem deserves far more love than it gets.
