Street Portraits

2010 June 12

This past week I’ve been working from home, so I haven’t been moving through the city as much as usual. Confined to my neighborhood, I’ve been using my walking time to practice shooting people as I pass them. And I’m getting good at it. So, today, I’d like to share a few of my best street portraits so far.

This first image is more of a street scene. I can’t even articulate why I like it. But I find it completely engaging. The food cart, the famous Birdland Jazz Club, the guy leaning against the building, the limo up on the sidewalk, the amazing quality of reflected light. It sucks me in every time.
