The Melrose Gallery

2010 June 28

While in LA, I’m spending most of my daylight hours on Melrose Avenue. I’m on the edge of the famous Melrose shopping district, which, like most things in LA, has been become the tourist attraction version of what it used to be. The once trendy stores now mostly sell t-shirts and over-priced jeans. However, one thing that still fascinates me about this area is the abundance of street art. Every available surface does double duty as a canvas. The styles are all over the map, and the artists range from the unknown to the world-famous. Here’s an example of what you’re likely to find.

UPDATE: Happily, I have discovered the artist of this work. He goes by Chase.
