When my workday ended early yesterday, I decided to explore the mythical east side of Manhattan. This is rare for me, and for most westsiders, because getting across town is never easy to do. And, well, let’s face it, there just isn’t much over there. My stroll took me across the lower 40′s, through Grand Central Station, and over to the United Nations Building. While exploring a small neighborhood just above the UN, called Tudor City, I came across a viaduct that crosses 42nd Street just half a block from 1st Avenue. And this is the breathtaking view I found. The first needle on the right is, of course, the Chrysler Building. Beyond it, all the way on 7th Avenue, is One Bryant Park, Bank of America’s new headquarters.
