Bronx Living

2010 August 1

It’s the weekend and time to cross another item off my list of things to do in the city this summer. With a brief respite from record temperatures, it seemed a perfect day to check out the Bronx Zoo. Considering its location, the zoo is amazingly expansive, with both small indoor exhibits and large open-range areas. One recently opened indoor exhibit is called Madagascar! (though I am enthusiastic about lemurs, the exclamation point is the zoo’s) which features various animals from the island, including a Nile crocodile, hissing cockroaches, ancient fish, and various species of lemur, like this ring-tailed lemur that was nice enough to pose for me.
