Southeast Light

2010 September 10

The Block Island Southeast Light is one of the most popular destinations for Block Island visitors. It was originally built in 1874, 300 feet away from the precipitous edge of the bluffs. By 1993, the bluffs had eroded to within 50 feet of the light, so the building was moved over 300 feet back to its current location.
