The sign outside the Majestic Theatre on 44th Street, home of The Phantom of the Opera. I remember coming to visit New York during my last year of high school, which was a few years after Phantom opened. A teacher got me a ticket to see it, and I sat wide eyed and impressed through the whole performance. I was in awe of New York City and the wonders that I found inside and outside the theatre. Decades later, the Phantom is now my neighbor. But I’m still wide eyed and impressed.
