Umbrella Buddies

With a cold snap and constant rain, fall is now in full swing in New York. These two women huddle close together under a single umbrella as they cross 8th Avenue at 47th Street. As a walking city, New York has a special relationship with umbrellas. When rain comes, many are caught unprepared. So street vendors and local shops can charge whatever they want. And they do. Perhaps that’s why these two decided to economize.
