The corner of 8th Avenue and 43rd Street. This is a special image for me and for the blog. For the blog, because I had the chance to use equipment I don’t normally use for blog pictures. It was shot with a Canon 5D Mark II, an amazing DSLR well beyond my pay grade. And special for me because it came from my first paid photo assignment. One of my Los Angeles clients, the television branding wizards called Troika Design Group, designed the inaugural look for the new kids network Hub. Proud of the results, as they should be, they asked me to spend the weekend shooting their handiwork all over Manhattan. Hitting over 20 locations, some of them twice and some of them mobile, was no small task. But for someone who loves taking pictures in New York as much as I do, it was also tons of fun. Thanks, Troika, for the big opportunity. And congratulations on a great campaign!
Oh, one more thing. Look at the lower left corner of the image. Yup, that’s the lit up spire of the Chrysler Building.
